ESG Report

As part of our commitment to combat climate change here at Investigo we are looking to have a fully electric fleet by 2030 as currently in the UK transport accounts for 34% of UK emissions.

Our technicians will also have driver efficiency trackers fitted to their vans to help monitor how they are driving. These monitors will encourage our drivers to use higher gears and maintaining a steady speed whenever possible as these will in turn reduce fuel costs.

The current energy crisis has shone a spotlight on the need for Government to get the UK off fossil fuels, and support businesses to switch to renewable energy sources. Our offices will become more energy efficient by using senor activated lights powered by low energy light bulbs as well switching off all appliances when not in use.

We are committed to fully digitalise our operations

The average water consumption per day per person is roughly 142 litres and alarmingly almost a third of this can be wasted due to bad habits, plumbing and inefficient appliances. At Investigo we are committed to reduce our overall office water consumption by implementing some easy-to-follow rules such as – turning off the tap and making sure its not dripping or leaking, only filling the kettle with the water require as well as capturing rainwater to use to wash the company vehicles. All small changes but they will make a huge difference as water shortages are on track to occur by the 2080s. The UK is focused on reducing water demand through water efficiency, water reuse and reducing leakage in properties as part of UK water efficiency strategy 2030 so in line with the UK Strategy we are introducing these techniques at Investigo.

As part of our commitment to combat climate change, we are looking into our own supply chains and are introducing suppliers that will offer a low-energy consumption or with a low carbon content when providing goods or services. Preference shown to those suppliers who can demonstrate a commitment to reducing their carbon emissions, water usage, waste, and packaging including the re-use of materials, and avoiding landfill.

We are committed to fully digitalise our operations to reduce the need for printing, encouraging digital invoices, reports, and communication by 2025 we will be completely paperless. We currently promote a climate positive strategy which instead of merely reducing emissions, we aim to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than we produce. By local sourcing, adopting circular economy principles and investing in green logistics, we can reduce emissions, support local economies, and promote sustainability.

Recent studies have shown that empowerment in the workplace led to increased job satisfaction, higher levels of performance and less employee strain and turnover. A culture of empowerment creates employees who are happier at work, more confident in their own skills, and this is the culture that we promote at Investigo. All employees are encouraged to develop their own roles and grow their skill sets by booking external training, attending seminars, networking, and webinars to enhance their knowledge which in turn helps us to grow as a business.  All Investigo employees bring their ideas and what they have been working on to our monthly team meetings which we look at our company processes and procedures while agreeing on what new strategies we should be implementing.

As our core values states collaboration is at the heart of our business so by working in partnership with local charities we can help give something back to the community. Our main charity partnership is with First Steps Future Training a charity construction company based in Glasgow. We work with First Steps to provide job / apprenticeship opportunities for young people that may have barriers to achieve employment the traditional way. First Steps recruit young individuals that potentially may have barriers to employment and train them on construction skills such as joinery, painting and decorating as well as bricklaying. They run the centre similarly to a construction site covering the importance of Health & Safety, not using your phone while working, always wearing PPE plus calling in the office if they are running late or going to be off sick. This helps prepare the young people for the world of work as they understand what is expected of them.

Our first white paper report is due to be published April 2025.
